Alex has been a family favorite of ours for years. She’s watched my kids for date night, come to birthday parties, lead cheerleading camps for my girls, and has always taken time to talk to me at high school football games. Oh, and she’s absolutely FABULOUS in front of the camera. Some of my favorites (how did I choose) from her senior session.

having curly hair myself, i can appreciate what elle must go through. however, her hair is one of a kind, spectacular. so curly in fact, that we actually had to have two separate days of shooting. here’s a couple of my favs, with many more to come i’m sure.

just to prove that chuck norris has nothing on her hair, i submit to you, ELLE from our 80s Fall Retreat theme this past year.

Today I had lunch with Jacob’s mom, Beth, who is a dear old friend of mine. We used to work together at church in the creative department, but as soon as I started having kids, I picked up my camera full time in order to stay home and be a mommy. It is so hard for me to believe that now she has a son old enough to be graduating high school. Jacob is a senior at Harber high school and is an incredible young man. He stole the show last year as Lumiére in the school’s production of Beauty and the Beast.

I’m currently on my way to photograph the wedding of Katie and Tripp up in Bentonville this evening. Katie comes as a friend from a long list of other brides that I’ve had the privilege to photograph over the years. She is passionate, gifted, creative, and driven. She has helped me a ton on this wedding, crafting and customizing what her wedding day is going to look like. The wedding is going to be fabulicious.

my husband and i are headed out to Chicago in the morning for our second annual trip so that he can run the chicago marathon. usually when we tell people that we are going away for a relaxing weekend away from our kids they ask where we are going and what we are doing. when i tell them that our weekend includes finley running 26.2 miles, they think we are crazy. last year was a ton of fun and we definitely have a better plan to see each other along the race course and find each other amidst the thousands of people at the finish. we are staying downtown, riding the train everywhere we go and will probably just enjoy holding hands for 3 days without our kids interrupting us every third sentence. i know i’ll have plenty of pictures to share, but looking back on a few from last year, i’m already excited because it won’t be freezing cold this time. i can’t wait!

She is totally adorable and I loved every second that I got to spend with her taking her senior pictures.

I recently grabbed four stunning juniors from Fayetteville High School for an afternoon of fun.
We had been talking about this for months, and now that school was out, we decided that we had to make it happen.

Most of these girls have babysat for our community group, been over to our house to jump on the trampoline, and played with our kids at church.
We love having them be a part of our lives.

Shoots like this always make me the most happy. Little to no agenda. Play around with some creative ideas.
Shoot out of the ordinary. Expect the extraordinary. Boy did we nail it!
