Magan and her family have been some of my most faithful customers over the years. I’ve had the privilege to take pictures of many different stages of their life along the way. a couple of weeks ago i decided to pack 15 mini photoshoots into one Sunday afternoon. the goal was help some friends of mine get all prepped for their Christmas season. i don’t want to spoil everyone’s Christmas card, but i had to share a little sample from the day. i think it probably made me a better photographer, forcing me to keep it simple and grab a great picture in a short amount of time. thanks everyone. the day was so much fun!

January through March is always the “off-season” here in nw arkansas. the weather is too cold, all the fun landscaping is gone, tans have faded, and people seem stuck in the ‘where did Christmas go’ lull that always lasts too long. thank goodness for spring! as the new portrait season is quickly approaching (and weddings soon to follow) i decided that a quick look back was in order.

it is always such a fulfilling experience to sift back through the years worth of pictures that i had the pleasure of taking. moms & dads, brothers & sisters, those in love, and the one week olds have a way of reminding us of the better moments in life. it was such joy to be a part of so many different families and share in their season of memory. i love what i do! it is such a blessing, and here’s why…

katie and i go way back which made this photo shoot such a treat. both of our older sisters were best friends in college. we shared that little sister bond, watching our older sisters cheer for the University of Arkansas.

fun fact about katie: her granddad actually started the printing company that i’ve been using for my picture printing needs. millerslab has been such a huge part of my business over the years and allows me to upload everything from home and then the pictures are at my door two days later! with “millers” being available only to select photographers, they also opened a division called mpix several years ago that allows the everyday family to have access to most of their amazing products. all this and we have katie’s granddad to thank for it!

some of my great friends from college drove up to fayetteville to catch a Hog game and grab some family pictures. its amazing to watch their girls grow up so fast. good to see you guys again!

I seriously hope that when my husband and I are at this stage of life and our kids have grown that we can have as good a time as the courtways did! what a tremendous delight it was to be with them. we especially love Mrs. Courtway because she teaches at my daughter’s school. we get to see her all the time…so great!
